The challenge

The Newton House office building was designed by Rietveld Architects from New York. It is situated in the Rijnsweerd Noord office park in Utrecht, on the east side of Utrecht between De Uithof and downtown Utrecht. The Newton House is a large office building, which accommodates several landlords, tenants and a multitude of daily visitors. This is why maintaining effective internal communication is by no means an easy task.

The real challenge for us was to find a suitable solution that would facilitate and improve internal communication as well as keep the visitors and employees informed and up-to-date at all times.

Our hospitality management system proved to be the key in creating a smarter and more efficient office building environment.


The process

Having a lot of experience in the development of property management software, we understand all too well that excellent communication is a necessary prerequisite for the management to operate smoothly. Nevertheless, communication between owners, managers, hospitality managers, service providers, tenants and visitors is not always easy. A digital signage solution for optimal communication

First, we started with a study of the communication and touch points between visitors and employees. This in turn allowed us to pinpoint strategic suspension points for the digital signage displays. These suspension points as well as our carefully chosen strategy ensured that the screens would have maximum accessibility and that everyone can easily be kept up-to-date at all times. To put it in more specific terms, all visitors are welcomed using digital signage screens when they arrive to the garage and then they are further briefed when they reach some of the important touch points, such as the welcome hall, the lounge or one of the coffee rooms.

Our second challenge was to help visitors find the right destination by providing optimal wayfinding signage. In order to receive the visitors in an appropriate and professional manner, the platform was extended with the digital reception module. As a result, the digital touch kiosk we have created for Utrecht Newton Business Center streamlines the reception process and frees up the administrative resources. This way, all visitors are received 24/7, even when the receptionist is not available to greet them.
