In this case study, we will examine our collaboration with Q8, an important global fuel retailer, to create a tailored Parking System that expands on their current Refund Fuel Web App, which we also developed for the client.
Following the successful execution of the Refund Fuel Web App project, our client expressed great satisfaction with our efforts and contacted us once more, this time to talk about new issues they were encountering—their drivers had difficulty locating available parking spaces, and the process for parking payment was excessively complex. Acknowledging the chance to enhance our current partnership, we eagerly accepted the project and began to create a customized solution to tackle these challenges.
The client's drivers were facing two significant challenges when it came to parking. Initially, they frequently struggled to find open parking spaces, resulting in annoyance and hold-ups. Secondly, the process of paying for parking was complicated, necessitating that drivers manage the payments on their own, which imposed an unwarranted strain on their everyday activities.
These challenges were directly affecting the efficiency and productivity of the client's operations, and the company was committed to seeking a solution that would enhance the parking experience for its drivers.

To tackle the parking issues of the client, we suggested creating a new Parking System module as a key component of the current Refund Fuel Web App. This module would offer a complete solution that assists drivers in locating and accessing parking spaces while also automating the payment process, guaranteeing a smooth experience for both the drivers and the client's finance team.

To bring this Parking System to life, we leveraged our expertise in custom web development and built upon the existing Refund Fuel Web App, which was developed using PHP and Silverstripe. We expanded the existing MySQL database to accommodate the additional parking logs and integrated Firebase Cloud Messaging to ensure seamless push notifications for iOS device users.
For the Parking System module, we utilized React and JavaScript, ensuring a modern and user-friendly interface that would provide an exceptional experience for client's drivers. Additionally, our close collaboration with Lekker Parkeren, an innovative provider of parking services, allowed us to integrate their API and deliver a comprehensive solution that seamlessly handled parking-related data and payments.
The integration of the Parking System feature into the Refund Fuel Web App has proven to be a meaningful solution for the client. The latest enhancements have greatly enhanced the driving experience for client staff, facilitating the search and access to parking spaces while also simplifying the payment procedure. This has led to improved efficiency since drivers no longer have to waste time looking for parking or dealing with related transactions manually.
The centralized parking management features have given the finance team improved oversight and authority regarding parking usage and costs. The automated payment system has removed the requirement for driver participation, lessening the administrative workload and guaranteeing precise monitoring of all expenses related to parking.
The achievement of this project has bolstered the collaboration between Future Forward and the client, reinforcing our standing as a reliable provider of tailored web development solutions that focus on the client's requirements and yield valuable outcomes.
