Port Rangers
Port Rangers is an eight-year community project that gives elementary school students the opportunity to get acquainted with the port of Rotterdam and become real Port Rangers. Every year, more than 5,000 students participate in this exciting project free of charge. It allows them to discover and gain firsthand experience about the port of Rotterdam by visiting it and taking part in various interesting and educational activities. The Port Rangers project is financed by The Municipality of Rotterdam, Deltalinqs Business Association and Port of Rotterdam Authority, and managed by EIC Mainport Rotterdam.
More than a website
In 2017, we were commissioned by the City of Rotterdam, Deltalinqs and Port of Rotterdam Authority to develop a website for this community project, and we were more than happy to lend a hand. Future Forward/Portstream has developed a responsive website built on SilverStripe technology that adapts well to various resolutions and form factors, and where the desired information is always a couple of clicks away. We made sure that the CMS we build for Port Rangers makes it easy for the administrators to manage the website content. Finally, as far as the overall look and feel of the website are concerned, we decided to create illustrations and follow the design principles that would specifically appeal to the younger crowd, who were chosen as our target group.
